This is a weekly support meeting for families confronted with substance abuse and addiction. They are free and open to the public. We welcome you.

This week’s meeting features Angela Kenbok a special speaker who will discuss Lifestyle Changes

Lifestyle change. Those were the two words that scared me the most when my husband began his journey to sobriety. It was going to be a long road. Without any knowledge of addiction, I took every opportunity to educate myself on the disease. Today, I am proud to not only join my husband on his path on recovery, but I am proud to carry my bachelor’s degree in social work and certification in drug and alcohol, while working as a counselor at Gateway Inpatient Facility and volunteering at Greenbriar Outpatient Facility, in Southwestern, PA. My family and I are active participants in Pittsburgh’s local recovery community while we strive to lessen the stigma of addiction as much as possible. Not only did my husband make extreme efforts to change his lifestyle, but my kids and I did as well. Although it was hard, and at times daunting, I don’t regret it one bit. I try to be as open as I can with our lifestyle so that other families or couples who are suffering from addiction can find some hope in their own journeys to recovery.
